Vietnam International Architecture, Building Materials Decoration and Home Exhibition (VIETBUILD) was founded in 1997 and has developed into a famous exhibition covering real estate, building materials, home improvement, home furnishing, home appliances, hardware, and related fields of production machinery and parts. The exhibition is held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho 10 times a year, with a total scale of nearly 17,000 booths, attracting exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions and a cumulative total of about 450,000 visitors, and has a wide and good reputation in the field of building materials and home decoration in Vietnam. Before the epidemic, Chinese exhibitors were the largest foreign exhibitors at VIETBUILD.
In 2021, Vietnam has a population of 98.51 million, an annual GDP of US$362.619 billion, an increase of 2.58% over last year, and a total foreign trade of about US$668.5 billion, of which exports are US$336.25 billion, an increase of 19% year-on-year, and imports are US$332.25 billion, an increase of 26.5% year-on-year. In 2021, China remained Vietnam’s largest source of imports, reaching US$109.9 billion. The United States is the largest exporter of Vietnamese goods, amounting to $95.6 billion.
With the “landing” of the RCEP free trade agreement in 2021, the outside world has optimistic expectations for Vietnam’s economy in 2022, which is expected to achieve economic growth of 6.6%. The World Bank expects RCEP to contribute 0.4% of Vietnam’s GDP growth and exports to 3.6%. After epidemic prevention and control in the third quarter of 2021 and the recovery of the economy (growth of 5.22%) in the fourth quarter, with the further coverage of the new crown vaccination, Vietnam will gradually fully open up the flow of international people in 2022, economic exchanges including international exhibitions and trade will be further normalized, and market demand will be further released.
